The pioneering cloud-based gaming service, OnLive, is set to debut in the UK this autumn.
The service, which offers instant access to more than 100 games via iPad, PC or internet TV and most recently, Android, is being introduced to the UK following a surge in popularity across the US.
Headed by Steve Perlman, the innovative tech entrepreneur behind QuickTime and WebTV, Onlive has been catapulted to success by his business acumen. With more than 100 US patents under his name, Perlman has guided a number of successful businesses from start-ups to thriving enterprises over a 30 year career in technology.
"OnLive will utterly transform gaming in the UK," said Perlman. "No discs, big downloads or specialised hardware needed. OnLive gives you the latest games instantly, anytime, anywhere on HDTV, PC, Mac, as well as iPad, Android tablets. High-performance gaming as accessible as streaming video, with unique social features such as massive spectating with voice chat and Facebook integration."
The service will be available for a flat-rate monthly fee from 22nd September of this year.
