The Entrepreneur Wales Awards is delighted to announce that Business Wales is the official headline sponsors of the 2015 Entrepreneur Wales Awards.

The Entrepreneur Wales Awards, produced by the organisers of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and the publishers of Fresh Business Thinking, is a national celebration and is looking to encourage applications from across Wales.

Like the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, the Entrepreneur Wales Awards judges focus on the story, not just the balance sheet, when evaluating entries received.

The Welsh Government’s Business Wales service provides business support to people starting, running and growing a business. Their support for business includes information, advice and guidance, delivered online, over the phone and face to face through a network of regionally based centres.

Their support for business includes information, advice and guidance, delivered online, over the phone through the Business Wales Helpline, and face to face through their Business Wales centres, which makes them ideal partners for the Entrepreneur Wales Awards.

The Welsh Government is championing the Accelerated Growth Business Entrepreneur of the Year and Entrepreneurs’ Champion of the Year categories.

The Entrepreneurs’ Champion seeks to reward and celebrate a person or organisation who works to help entrepreneurs be successful in Wales. Through fostering, nurturing and encouraging entrepreneurs, they will be distinguished by their insight, reach and success stories, but most importantly, by the example they set through their own actions and the unwavering support they offer.

The Accelerated Growth Business award will be given to the individual that has demonstrated significant growth during their first 5 years of trading. Businesses or individuals entering should demonstrate how they recognised opportunity and achieved objectives as well as examples of how entrepreneurs built on their strengths, addressed challenges, created sustainable employment, success and growth.

Economy Minister, Edwina Hart said: “Entrepreneurs are vital for creating growth and jobs in the Welsh economy. I am always impressed by the talented and hard working entrepreneurs we have in Wales and these awards recognise and celebrate the role they play. The Welsh Government is a pro-business government and supports our entrepreneurs to create a more prosperous Wales.”

Francesca Russell, founder of the Entrepreneur Wales Awards, said: “We're absolutely delighted to be sponsored by, and to be working with, the Welsh Government and Business Wales. We're excited to be working with them to celebrate and promote the promote enterprise that exists in Wales and to recognise the entrepreneurs that are driving our economy forward."

"We believe that there is so much more to a business than the balance sheet and that's why we want to celebrate the incredible stories that Welsh entrepreneurs and their businesses have to tell."

Entries for the Entrepreneur Wales Awards are open until 14 August. You can find the categories and enter here.
