The UK Ambassador to Brazil, Alan Charlton, is heading to Derby in May to help local firms find out more about winning business, as part of UK Trade & Investment’s (UKTI) High Growth week.
Local firms are being urged to attend the Latin American Breakfast, on Friday 17 May at the Mickleover Court Hotel, which will also include talks from export chiefs from Mexico and Colombia, alongside presentations from local companies that have secured success in these markets.
“I’d urge local firms to sign up for this prestigious breakfast event to find out more about the opportunities in these markets," Sarah Stevenson, Deputy Regional Director for UKTI East Midlands said.
“Brazil is one of the world’s largest and fastest growing economies with a rapidly growing middle-class and a large competitive domestic market. Its long term economic growth and massive natural resources make it a hugely important strategic partner for UK business.
“During the breakfast briefing we will also shine a light on other emerging business opportunities in the high growth markets of Colombia and Mexico."
Export Week: High Growth Markets will run from Monday 13 May and will give local businesses access to specialist advice to help them successfully tackle high growth markets
“The global economic centre of gravity has shifted towards high-growth markets," Sarah continued.
“Through May’s Export Week we are looking to increase the momentum and reach as many businesses as we can with information about the support available for selling their products and services to millions of potential new customers.
“By attending this event firms can find out more about the stories behind the statistics and hear from the experts about UKTI support available.”
