Heathrow Airport will be open and operating a limited schedule of arrivals and departures today (Monday).
Like many organisations Heathrow have turned to micro-blogging social network site Twitter to communicate with passengers and their latest Tweet at 08:55 on Monday 20th said “A flight arrives or departs every 45 secs on a normal day at LHR, so with one runway open only a limited no. of flights will operate today.”
On the home page of their website they say that; “We will provide regular updates on this site and you can also keep up-to-date by following us on Twitter @HeathrowAirport”
Gatwick's runway is open today, Monday 20 December and operations are returning to normal.
Knock-on delays and cancellations are likely throughout the day due to the ongoing impact of snow across Northern Europe. They too have embraced Twitter to communicate with passengers and they can be followed @Gatwick_Airport

According to the Met Office we should expect; “Sleet or snow will spread northeastwards across southern counties of England and Wales today with further slight or locally moderate accumulations. Drier in central and northern areas, but very cold with freezing fog patches. Wintry showers near eastern coasts.”
Eurostar say that they aren’t taking bookings for travel up to and including 24 Dec.
