New service will get entrepreneurs and small businesses online quickly and professionally without IT skills

Most SMEs in the UK outsource website design because they do not believe they can do a professional job themselves, according to research by BaseKit. Instead they put up with high design costs — both for creating a website and every time they want to change anything, according to the company.

To help address the problem, BaseKit has come up with a solution which promises a fast and easy way to create and publish web sites from a Photoshop design or design template with no coding, install or download required. The full service, including hosting, can cost as little as £5 per month.

Most SMEs do not have the time or experience to create a website, so will turn to the expertise of a web designer. According to BaseKit, many businesses find the budget for the initial cost, but they overlook the price for the designer to make any required updates to the site. This can sometimes cost as much as £150 every time they outsource a change to the site.

Juan Lobato, CEO of BaseKit explains: “Even more damaging to a business than not having a website, is having a bad website. But the days of having to pay a designer to create a great looking business website are over. Today, business owners can create, host and manage their website themselves.”

The BaseKit solution gives SMEs the ability to regain control. The service will enable businesses to create and manage their own website at a fraction of the cost, approximately 80 per cent less, than using the services of a web designer.

Lobato concludes: “With small and medium businesses becoming increasingly aware of the importance of an online presence, BaseKit provides the tools and support to create a website in a cheap, easy and effective way.”
