HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) have reported a sharp increase in the number of homes sold in the UK in March.
The rise was, in large, due to the typical spring increase, and saw an 11,000 increase in sales between February and March.
With 74,000 homes sold in March it could be a sign that many buyers brought their purchases forward to benefit from the stamp duty concession, which has now finished.
Mortgage lending also spiked in March, figures showed on Monday.
