The output of the UK's construction industry dropped by 2% in November, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
The ONS said new orders and repair and maintenance work contributed to the 2% fall on October 2014.
Repair and maintenance work was the biggest contributor to the drop, decreasing by 4.5%.
Better news since 2013
But the industry faired much stronger when comparison the figures with November 2013. On that basis, output was up 3.6% and new orders grew by 5.7%. Repair and maintenance work increased by just 0.1%.
There is further evidence of better long-term growth in the quarterly figures. In the September - November quarter, new orders were up 4.6% and repair and maintenance work was up 2.5%, compared with the same period in 2013.
