Only a short time remains for South East companies looking to break into international markets to book their place at a special export development event on 17 February that is bringing trade experts to the region from around the world.

Going Global in a Day”, at the Copthorne Hotel, Slough, brings together heads of UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) teams based in British diplomatic posts in nearly 50 countries.

UKTI has mounted similar events before, but trade heads rarely convene in such numbers, making this an exceptional opportunity for current or aspiring exporters to tap into detailed knowledge of their target markets and take their business global.

Delegates can pre-book 30-minute one-to-one meetings with the head of trade in their preferred markets — however, appointments are limited and booking up fast.

The visiting experts understand not just the broad practicalities of exporting but the particular cultural and business challenges posed by trading in the countries where they are based. As well as market knowledge and experience, they have information on the latest business opportunities, and can provide advice tailored to the needs of individual companies.

Rob Lewtas, Head of International Marketing for UKTI South East, said: “UKTI’s global network gives British companies access to trade intelligence, business leads, advice and support direct from overseas markets. ‘Going Global in a Day’ brings all this expertise and knowledge from around 50 overseas markets in every corner of the world right to the doorstep of companies in our region. This really is an unmissable opportunity for exporters to meet our experts face-to-face, discover the range of opportunities open to them in their chosen markets, and take advice on how best to take them.”

The event will also include presentations designed to give delegates a better understanding of the latest business trends and opportunities in key target markets (Egypt, the Nordic countries, and Japan), as well as cultural tips and market access intelligence.
