Pressure on high street shops continues as Thorntons announces the closure of up to 180 of their stores.
The decision comes after a strategic review of the business after which the chocolate makers confirmed at least 120 stores will be closed, and a further 60 could follow.
All of the stores to be closed will be those directly owned and run by the company, as they look to replace them with franchised stores.
Shares in the company were down 5% in London trading.
