TalkTalk has revealed that 157,000 customers were affected by the recent website hack, confirming its suspicions that the attack was 'smaller' than first thought.
Initially, the telecoms firm thought all of its four million customers' information may have been at risk.
TalkTalk did confirm, however, that more than 15,000 bank account numbers and sort codes were stolen in the hack. It also added that around 28,000 credit and debit card numbers were obscured, and therefore useless to the hackers.
Police have so far made four arrests in connection with the attack, including 15 and 16-year old boys. Earlier this week, the 16-year old was released on bail.
