Local companies are being urged to make the most of the growing opportunities in Turkey by taking part in an UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) trade mission to Istanbul.
The mission, between 8-12 October this year, will give companies a cost-effective way of meeting potential clients face-to-face.
A full market briefing will help companies prepare in advance for trip, with the chance to attend an evening networking event at the British Consulate in Istanbul. Expert advice from a UKTI commercial officer based in Turkey will also be available, including tips on business etiquette.
Turkey specialist for UKTI South East, Lev Denker, highlighted the opportunities in this market.
“Turkey is one of the fastest growing economies in the world today and there are more than 2,000 British companies already doing business to the value of £9bn," said Denker.
“With its large, young and well educated population of nearly 77 million, Turkey presents significant business opportunities in education, creative industries, advanced engineering, financial, business services, ICT, energy, sport and leisure, construction, rail and ports.
“While the size of the domestic market offers immense opportunities, Turkey is also a springboard for companies seeking to enter Central Asian and Middle Eastern markets.
“There are also opportunities for optional visits to Turkey’s capital, Ankara, as well as Izmir, a coastal city with the country’s third biggest population.”
Places on the mission are limited, with a Tuesday 31 July 2012 deadline to register. For more information go to Turkey trade mission Oct 2012 or contact Hema Savani on 01489 661 409 firstname.lastname@example.org
