Siemens has announced that it is cutting 4,500 jobs, months after revealing plans to cut more than 7,000.
It amounts to around 1% of the German industrial giant's total global workforce.
The news comes as Siemens reported a 5% fall in quarterly profits to €1.7bn (£1.3bn).
In a statement, the German firm said: "These measures are being taken in response to the persistently difficult environment in the global power generation market."
Chief executive Joe Kaeser said: "The profitability of our Industrial Business shows that we must still improve some businesses."
