Having seen their original bid fail in June brewers SABMiller have announced a second bid for Australia's Foster's Group.
However, this time they will take their bid directly to the shareholders of Australia's biggest brewer, having seen a $10 billion bid rejected by the board in June for being too low.
It is SABMiller's belief that the offer tabled is highly attractive and thus should be seen by the shareholders.
"As there has been no willingness to engage in relation to SABMiller's proposal on the part of the Foster's board, SABMiller has decided to make an offer to Foster's shareholders directly," the UK-based company said in a statement.
Foster's have been the subject of take-over rumours ever since they announced plans to divide their company in to two parts - ridding themselves of their wine business that was seen as a potential deterrent to any potential buyers.
