Days like this are almost as eagerly anticipated as the big day itself. Today (Friday) sees a range of retailers launch their all important Christmas adverts.
Asda, Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury's, TK Maxx and probably the most awaited, John Lewis, all launch their Christmas adverts today.
Last year, John Lewis spent a whopping £7 million on its 'Monty the Penguin' campaign. And it contributed to larger sales almost immediately after the ad was released. John Lewis reported a 5% rise in sales in the first week of the campaign, with a 17% increase in online sales.
A year earlier, and its 'Hare and Bear' campaign helped John Lewis to hit £100m at its earliest ever time in the Christmas period.
