Reckitt Benckiser has raised its revenue targets for the year after posting a better-than-expected performance in the second quarter.
The owner of painkiller brand Nurofen, disinfectant Dettol and condom brand Durex said like-for-like sales were up 5% in the six months to 30 June.
“I am pleased with our first half results, they once again confirm that our strategic focus on consumer health and hygiene is delivering sustainable growth and outperformance," said chief executive Rakesh Kapoor.
Reckitt Benckiser said full-year revenues are now likely to be 4-5% above expectations.
The group is currently focusing on attempts to grow within the consumer health sector. It comes as demand for over-the-counter health products continues to grow as the ageing population becomes more health aware.
