Reading firms are being urged to explore business opportunities overseas at a free half-day workshop being run by government export body UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and global logistics firm TNT Express this month.
The event at the Holiday Inn, Reading South on 18 July will give up to 20 local firms the chance to learn practical tips on how to sell overseas, hear first-hand success stories, receive specialist assistance to prepare robust business plans and network with other local businesses seeking to export.
“It’s now an established fact that international trade is one of the key drivers for continued economic growth. While trading conditions within the UK remain subdued, the demand for quality British products across the world has never been greater," Lewis Scott, Regional Director for UKTI South East, said.
“Finding the right market and actually getting started can seem daunting, which is why this event can help businesses understand that they do not have to be alone on the export journey.
“The event will give any business seeking to enter international markets an invaluable insight into exporting and provide them with a host of tips which will help build their confidence and put them on the pathway to success. It is an ideal opportunity to meet and share experiences with other local businesses seeking to export, find out what support is available and, most importantly, how they can access it.”
