UK postal workers, under the aegis of the Communication Workers Union (CWU), are to carry out a 24 hour strike as a general attack against the cuts to their wages and pensions resulting from the coalition government’s cuts programme.
The financial crisis, motion 1A which detailed the strike states, was the fault of bankers and politicians, not workers.
The motion also said that Greek workers 'served as the model for resistance' in the UK.
The CWU is imploring the Trades Union Congress to enact a similar 24 hour general strike in protest of what they deem unnecessary and unfair cuts.
