Poland's richest man Jan Kulczyk has died at the age of 65 following complications following an operation.
Shares of businesses owned by Kulczyk or his company Kulczyk Investments fell after the news of his death. Ciech SA, which was 51% owned by the country's richest man, fell more than 5% and oil and gas firm Serinus Energy Inc fell 2.2%.
Mr Kulczyk earned his fortune by buying government assets and selling them to private investors. It came at a time in the 1990s when Poland transformed its communist economy by selling state-owned businesses.
His fortune is estimated to be around $4.3 billion.
