An intervention by Labour will now see Business Secretary Vince Cable unveil his plans to curb executive pay in the Commons today (Monday), rather than Tuesday as originally planned.
A complaint from Shadow Business Secretary Chuka Umunna, that Mr Cable was planning to discuss his proposals in a speech to a think tank, rather than to MPs, has forced the unveiling of plans ahead of schedule.
Whilst all measures will be announced shortly, one we can expect to see is greater power for shareholders to block excessive pay or redundancy packages.
