Pinewood Shepperton film studios have seen a return to profit on the back of a series of blockbuster movies, including the latest James Bond film, Skyfall.

The group reported a pre-tax profit of £3m in the six months to 30 September, compared to a £5.4m loss for the half year to the end of December last year.

Revenue from Skyfall as well as an upcoming Disney film made its film arm the star performer for the period.

"Current trading is positive with a high level of contracted revenues for the remainder of the current financial year," Ivan Dunleavy, Chief Executive, said.

"The number of film productions contracted so far for next year is encouraging and the Board looks forward to the future with confidence."
