Former Tesco chief executive Philip Clarke will be interviewed by the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) over the supermarket's accounting scandal.

Shortly after Clarke left the retailer, Tesco revealed that it had overstated profits by £263 million.

The SFO will interview the former Tesco boss under caution, meaning anything he says may be given in evidence.

The Serious Fraud Office launched a criminal investigation into the scandal shortly after it broke. It is understood the body will also interview former Tesco's former commercial director, Kevin Grace. A number of suppliers and directors suspended and fired in the wake of the scandal have also been interviewed.
