Export chief for UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) North East, David Coppock, has urged local energy firms to sign up for a global roadshow that is touring the country in September.
The UKTI Oil & Gas Roadshow 2013 will begin its tour at Durham’s Radisson Blu hotel on 9 September, before moving on to other venues in Yorkshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and London.
Firms can book one-to-one meetings with up to nine oil and gas specialists from countries including Brazil, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Uganda and the USA.
David Coppock said: “Having such an experienced and knowledgeable group of advisors visit the North East is a great opportunity for local energy firms to get up to date information on contracts available and advice on winning business.
“As a renowned hub for the UK’s energy sector, there are a high number of firms across the North East with extensive experience and skills. This expertise is in demand around the world and these advisers will give firms invaluable insights on how to access these markets.
“And later in the year firms can capitalise on this demand by visiting some of these markets on UKTI organised trade missions to Kuwait, Qatar and Angola.”
The roadshow will begin its tour at the Radisson Blu, Frankland Lane, Durham, from 7.30am until 2pm.
UKTI’s International Trade Advisers Bob Beresford and Jonathan Gamblin will be giving presentations highlighting two forthcoming market visits to Kuwait/Qatar and Angola, which both offer a wide range of opportunities for those in the oil and gas sector.
Delegates can then take advantage of one to one meetings with commercial officers specialising in the energy sector before enjoying a networking lunch.
