Firms from across London and the South East are being urged to sign up for an event showcasing the export opportunities for British businesses in the emerging European economies.
Jonathan Allen, HM Ambassador to Bulgaria, will be among eight prestigious trade officials from emerging Europe who will offer advice to companies at the special event organised by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) London on Monday 21 October at 51 Buckingham Gate, London.
The event will take the form of an overview of the economic, political and commercial prospects for Emerging Europe with networking lunch followed by limited pre-booked one-to-one meetings with the Trade Officials.
The representatives are from, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
Jo Freeman, Deputy Regional Director for UKTI London said: “UK exports of goods and services to emerging Europe have more than doubled, from £6 billion in 2000 to £16 billion in 2012. This event gives businesses the opportunity to discover more about the opportunities here and how to access them.
“Given the region’s proximity to the UK, its access to EU funds and its participation in the single market, emerging Europe is an excellent market for those new to exporting goods or services abroad.
“Events like these are designed to give firms across London and the South East an opportunity to learn first-hand about important markets. They can meet with prestigious directors of trade, giving them a foot in the door to these markets.”
The event takes place from 9am till 2pm on Monday 21 October at 51 Buckingham Gate, London.
