Small and medium sized companies from across London are being urged to find out how to boost international business using the web, at special workshops hosted by Government export body UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) London.

Held in February and March the events are designed to give firms the tools they need to create an effective online strategy to become visible in international markets.

Led by experts in their field the two courses are due to take place at 107 Fleet Street:

- Optimising your website for international growth, 27 February, will help companies learn more about using the web to target international customers and help them understand the firm’s products and services; as well as giving advice on building a social media plan.

- Digital Marketing for Global Growth, 7 March, will help firms find out about international social media networks, provide an insight on how to structure a multilingual social media campaign and a LinkedIn Master Class.

“A firm’s website is an essential channel for them to showcase their products and services overseas so it’s important to get it right," Parveen Thornhill, Regional Director at UKTI London, said.

“These workshops can give businesses the vital knowledge necessary to utilise the internet for maximum impact overseas for minimum cost.

“Whether firms are new to exporting or an old hand, the workshops can address the key issues of growing an international business online.”

'Open to Export' is a UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) initiative in partnership with hibu plc (formerly Yell Group).
