Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, has officially opened outsourcer Ant’s fourth contact centre.
Mr Clegg toured the new £2 million facility in Sheffield which will create 200 new jobs over the next 12 months.
The facility has been refurbished to become a state of the art contact centre and means Ant, a leading UK contact centre outsourcer, becomes one of the region’s largest employers. The acquisition and refurbishment of the centre was backed by Santander Corporate Banking.
The new premises will deliver outbound sales and customer service for some of today’s household names including British Gas.
“Ant is going from strength to strength and these 200 jobs are a big boost for Sheffield. I am always glad to see Sheffield companies grow and everyone at Ant should be very proud of their success," Mr Clegg said.
Anthony Hinchliffe, Chief Executive and founder of Ant, said business had been growing gradually.
“We are seeing an increase in the number of companies outsourcing and in particular a growing demand for outbound services," he said.
"Ant is well known for its ability in this area and for delivering great results. As a customer focused business, the people we employ are the key to our success. It is a resounding endorsement of the quality of our local skills base and our business environment that we are able to undertake this expansion.”
Mr Hinchliffe also paid tribute to Ant’s banking partner, Santander Corporate Banking, for their support and efficiency regarding the acquisition and refurbishment of the new facility.
