News Corp bosses Rupert and James Murdoch along with News International’s former Chief Executive, Rebekah Brooks are to appear before the House of Commons’ media committee for questioning.
The ‘Wapping Three’ will be quizzed separately, with the Murdochs appearing before the culture committee from 14:30, before Brooks arrives for questioning at 15:30.
The process will begin at 12:00 with a hearing from former police commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson, followed by John Yates.
The crisis has spread to mire the Metropolitan police, who are increasingly facing criticism for affiliating with the scandal. Allegations range from their hiring ex-News of the World journalist Neil Wallis as a spin doctor, to selling private information to NoW journalists for illegal payments.
The summons will be the highest profile occurrence of its kind, and has led to Prime Minister David Cameron cutting short a trade visit to South Africa in order to attend the hearing.
As developments take place, Fresh Business Thinking will be tweeting live.
