The Mayor of London has urged London’s 800,000 small and medium businesses (SMEs) to ‘go global’ and grasp trade opportunities from growth economies overseas, as he announced £700,000 for a programme to boost business exports.

To ramp up the Mayor’s export drive, his Deputy Mayor for Business and Enterprise, Kit Malthouse will this week lead a UK Trade & Investment’s (UKTI) trade mission to Istanbul, with the aim of winning new contracts overseas for London businesses. The delegation will include 17 London companies of all sizes and sectors, from architecture and design to security and construction.
