The Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) have confirmed that train drivers on the Victoria Line are to go on strike next Tuesday evening in a row over working conditions.

The RMT Union members will strike from 21:00 BST until 03:00 on Wednesday.

The union says London Underground (LU) is forcing drivers to work overtime and that it has failed to hold meetings requested by staff.

LU says it had resolved all matters that the union had raised with it and that a meeting held on 11 September did not raise further concerns.

"Less than half of those balloted chose to vote in any way, and just 39% of those balloted have voted for industrial action," Peter McNaught, LU operations director, added.

"If the union feels there are still issues to discuss then they should keep talking to us so that things can be resolved properly."
