Bristol based consultancy PES, which is part of the Benefex Group, held a Talent Forum last week to help local businesses understand how to retain and recruit the very best talent. 80 business men and women from around the South West attended the Forum which was held in the Eastwood Park, Gloucestershire on Tuesday 5th of October. All of the £1015.00 raised went to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
The event showcased two guest speakers: Rob Law of Magmatic, the entrepreneur and Dragons’ Den survivor behind the popular children’s suitcase ‘Trunki’ and Ken Hames, popular BBC presenter and Operations Director of Farscape Development.
Rob Law took the audience through his exciting journey of forming and building the award winning company Magmatic and the importance of having the right people around him. Ken Hames delivered an insightful and inspiring speech which allowed the audience to see clips of the BBC documentary, Beyond Boundaries demonstrating what we are capable of giving the right opportunities.
The Talent Forum provided employers with skills and techniques which are easily transferable and so can be instantly used in their businesses and achieve results. The event also provided each guest with a free half day of consultancy from each of the leading local sponsors; DNA, Farscape, PES and Resource Management
Ian Rummels Director of PES and Benefex commented “Our vision for the Talent Forum is simple. We want to host a fantastic event that helps local businesses to succeed in the current market, whilst entertaining them, allowing networking opportunities and raising money for a ground breaking charity. Everyone who attended the first Talent Forum gave us extremely positive feedback which has cemented the idea of holding more of these events in the future covering topics that will help local businesses attract and retain the very best talent, providing the platform for success”.
The next Talent Forum is currently in the planning stages for early 2011 and PES hope to make it even better than the last, with specials guests, new topics, discussion groups, networking and, of course, raising even more for charity.
