Twenty-seven businesses across Great Britain have just one week left to drum up votes for their innovative business ideas and win a share of £450,000. The prize money is part of the Barclays Take One Small Step’ competition and will go towards making business dreams a reality.

From the twenty-seven shortlisted businesses, nine regional winners will go on to win £50,000, as well as receiving expert business advice.

To vote for your favourite shortlisted business go to www.takeonesmallstep.co.uk Voting will close at 9am on Monday 27 June.

The competition is backed by one of the UK’s best-known, and most successful businesswomen, Michelle Mone OBE, co-owner of MJM International and creator of Ultimo, the UK’s designer lingerie brand. Commenting on the twenty-seven shortlisters, Michelle said: “This competition has provided an amazing opportunity to showcase new business ideas to millions of people but I know from my own experience that having a great idea is only part of the battle. It’s important that entrepreneurs have passion and conviction, and that’s what our shortlisted entries have.

“Nine businesses across Great Britain will win £50,000 to help them realise their business dreams. All winning ideas will be decided purely as a result of the public’s vote, so it’s really important to get those votes in now and boost your favourite’s chances of winning. I’m delighted to be part of this competition, which I hope will encourage more people to think about realising their own business dreams.”
