Companies are failing to increase proportions of women on boards, IT company, the FDM Group has said.
Echoing the findings of Lord Davies Review into Women on Boards, the IT company is urging businesses to increase numbers on women at the executive level in the UK’s businesses for the sake of their competitiveness and that of the UK economy.
The IT sector has a particularly low level of female board members, and for FTSE 100 fewer than 1 in 8 executives are women.
"A majority of women on any management board is unusual but within the IT industry it is almost unheard of,” FDM chief, Sheila Flavell told Women in Technology. “We hope that our ongoing success will help to lead women into the industry and onto management boards in all sectors."
