For several years, an OCR award in mediation has been the national ‘benchmark’ training; this is set to change as the Institute of Leadership and Management takes its first full endorsed mediation programme into its bespoke course portfolio. The new Qualified Workplace Mediator programme has been developed by workplace mediation market leaders CMP Resolutions specifically for those wanting to be workplace mediators who recognise the value of an ILM endorsement.

ILM offers a wide range of qualifications covering all aspects of leadership and management, along with specialist programmes in coaching and mentoring, HR and enterprise. Last year 90,000 people registered for an ILM qualification, gaining the crucial skills and knowledge to improve their performance at work. Mediation has proved its value as a leadership and management competency, and we anticipate more candidates coming forward now that mediation has been articulated as way of improving performance.

In addition, every learner undertaking the ILM programme will automatically gain access to the terrific range of benefits available from the ILM.

CMP Resolutions Managing Director, Katherine Graham says,
“We turned to the ILM as the natural partner for our new 'Qualified Workplace Mediator' programme, and are delighted to have this course endorsed by them, along with our other shorter conflict management and Investigation programmes. Workplace mediation has come a long way and it is time that it had a bona fide programme that positions mediation firmly as a management and leadership capability.”
