UK house prices are now above their pre-financial crisis peak, according to the latest figures.

The average house prices is now £181,619 in England and Wales, the Land Registry said. It comes after prices rose 1.1% between May and June, overtaking the pre-crisis peak of £180,983.

Across the UK, prices are up 5.4% over the past year. They range from a typical above-average 9.2% rise in London and a 1.4% upswing in Yorkshire and the Humber.
