Last year more than 10,000 businesses got free help at a Business Advice Open Day. Now, for the first time, HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) is bringing its successful programme to Harrow and anyone running or thinking of starting up a small or medium sized enterprise, or becoming self employed, is invited to attend.

The most successful businesses are in the know about the latest developments and initiatives. Business Open Days offer this and more in a one-stop-shop event which includes an exhibition and a programme of free seminars where HMRC and its partner organisations can advise on a range of topics including VAT registration, online services, employment law and more.

A brand new seminar for this year is aimed at businesses interested in competing for a contract at or around the Olympics venues and training camps. Delegates can find out what’s going on locally and how their business could get a chance to bid.

Speaking before the event Roger Lovell, Business Liaison Team Leader, HMRC said:

“These are challenging economic times and it can be difficult to find the time to visit or contact all the organisations you need to. The Harrow business advice open day brings a wealth of information all under one roof. It’s designed to be an informal and relaxed event and people who have attended our events in the past have told us that they find it useful and leave better informed and encouraged to continue in their success.

“We are committed to bringing our open days to more locations than ever this year and I am delighted that we are visiting Harrow for the first time. It is one of the 23 new venues we intend to visit this year and offers us a new opportunity to support and assist the many enterprising and successful businesses in the area.
