The Company was formed in July 1919 to make and sell reinforcing steel for the construction industry and was originally known as The Helical Bar and Engineering Company Limited.
The sale of the steel reinforcement business to its management at the end of 1986 enabled Helical Bar to diversify into a property development and investment company.
In 2008 a consortium of Helical Bar and Grainger was named as the preferred developer for the King Street regeneration scheme in Hammersmith.
