The Greek government has threatened to default on its loans if a fresh deal is not agreed.

Greece is due to make a €450m repayment to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on 9 April. But the country's interior minister told German magazine Spiegel that Greece would not make the payment unless it received a fresh cash injection.

"If no money is flowing on April 9, we will first determine the salaries and pensions paid here in Greece and then ask our partners abroad to achieve consensus and understanding that we will not pay €450 million to the IMF on time," said Nikos Voutzis.
