A brand new set of awards are being launched to celebrate entrepreneurs and recognise their achievements.

The Great British Entrepreneur Awards will be held during Global Entrepreneurship week - taking place in London, 19th November 2013.

The awards will celebrate all areas of entrepreneurship and enterprise, including a variety of categories for entrepreneurs, enterprise, and champions of entrepreneurs. The prestigious awards will include; Entrepreneur of the Year, Enterprise City of the Year and Business TV show of the Year.

A high profile panel of judges has been assembled, with representatives from entrepreneurship, media, academia, policy, enterprise and business. The judges panel includes; Peter Ibbetson, Chairman of Small Business’ RBS, Lawson Muncaster, MD City AM, Tom Riordan CEO, Leeds City Council, Priya Lakhani, founder of Masala Masale and Wilfred Emmanuel Jones, The Black Farmer.

“Entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of the economy. They question the received wisdom, drive change and create opportunities," Founder of the awards Simon Burton said.

"Entrepreneurs rescue failing industries and invent entirely new ones. They create jobs and solve problems. Entrepreneurs make something of nothing.”

The Awards are launching in partnership with Fresh Business Thinking. Fresh Business Thinking is an on-line resource for business owners, directors and entrepreneurs with over 250,000 active members.

“The Great British Entrepreneur Awards will be the annual celebration of seasoned and aspiring entrepreneurs and the support network they need to survive and thrive," Fresh Business Thinking founder Nick James commented.

"UK PLC needs entrepreneurs like never before, people that can innovate, lead and inspire and the Great British Entrepreneur Awards will put them centre stage.”
