Vehicle manufacturer Ford has been forced to recall 1.2 million pick-up trucks throughout the US and Canada amidst fears fuel tanks may fall off and start fires.
There is a fear that the straps holding the tanks on some versions of the F-150, F-250 and Lincoln Blackwood trucks built between 1997 and 2004 could be eroded by road salt in colder states.
Advice from Ford suggests owners take their trucks to a dealership to have the straps replaced.
The F-series has been one of America's best-selling vehicles and Ford said this defect has caused eight fires, and one injury already and they are keen to avoid further problems.
