One of the UK's largest regional small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) investment companies, Finance Wales, has teamed up with the Entrepreneur Wales Awards for a second year.
Produced by the organisers of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and the publishers of Fresh Business Thinking, the Entrepreneur Wales Awards, now in its second year, celebrates the hard work and inspiring stories of Welsh entrepreneurs and businesses in Wales.
Finance Wales was set up in 2001 by Welsh Government to invest in Welsh SMEs. Working with businesses to understand their growth plans and come up with a structured funding package to suit their needs, Finance Wales invests between £1,000 and £2 million at a time.
Alix Popham, former Wales rugby international and co-founder of the Entrepreneur Wales Awards, said: "The Entrepreneur Wales Awards is all about celebrating entrepreneur with inspiring stories, and investment more often than not plays a significant part is the start of those stories. On that note, we're really excited to have Finance Wales, the leading figure for investment in Wales, back on board again this year. And we look forward to continuing our efforts to champion, celebrate and support Wales' brightest entrepreneurs together."
Steve Smith, director of technology venture investments at Finance Wales, said: "Finance Wales offers a range of bespoke debt and equity investment to entrepreneurial businesses across Wales, providing the necessary development capital to help Welsh businesses thrive and prosper. We are delighted to be involved with the Entrepreneur Wales Awards for the second year running and in particular in sponsoring Technology Entrepreneur of the Year."
