More than one billion people have used Facebook in a single day for the first time, Mark Zuckerberg has said.
The Facebook founder said the "milestone" was reached on Monday when "1 in 7 people on Earth used Facebook to connect with their friends and family".
The social media giant has around 1.5 billion monthly unique users - roughly half the world's online population - but it was the first time more than one billion had used Facebook in a single day.
In the post, Mark Zuckerberg said: "This was the first time we reached this milestone, and it's just the beginning of connecting the whole world."
