The mobile phone network operator EE will buy 58 Phones4U stores, saving 359 jobs.

Phones4U fell into administration last week after EE decided not to renew its contract with the retailer, following similar moves from Vodafone and O2.

But EE's decision to buy 58 stores comes after Vodafone agreed a deal with administrators PwC to buy 140 Phones4U stores.

Phones4U's founder John Caudwell last week launched a scathing attack on the network operators, describing their decisions as an "unprecedented assassination".

It has been widely reported that the mobile network operators have looked to 'cut out the middle man' to boost profits after being hit with tighter restrictions on things like data roaming charges.
