Boeing's Dreamliner has, three years later than expected, taken to the air on its maiden commercial flight.
The first commercial flight has seen the plane fly from Tokyo to Hong Kong, flying under the guise of All Nippon Airlines (ANA).
It had originally been planned that the plane would begin commercial service in 2008, but a string of setbacks at Boeing put the date back three years.
Following Wednesday's charter flight full service will begin in November.
