'Let it go, Let it go' - It's the song that sends children into hysteria and adults into despair. But sales of toys from the movie Frozen have given a huge boost to Walt Disney profits.

Profits for the final three months of 2014 were up 19% to $2.2bn (£1.5bn), with revenues up 9% to $13.4bn. Both aspects beat expectations.

Sales of Frozen toys helped Disney's consumer products division to a 22% rise in sales.

"This was yet another incredibly strong quarter for our company," it said.

There was also a 9% rise in visitor numbers to its theme parks, despite a measles outbreak at a Disney theme park in Southern California.

Sales in its studio entertainment division fell 2%, but it was largely due to the huge success of Frozen in the previous year compared to B0ig Hero 6.

Disney's shares were up 4.4% following the announcement, adding to 30% rises in the past year.
