Demand for staff for all employment sectors across the UK is up 25% over the past year; though saw a slight drop between February and March. This is according to the latest Jobs Index survey of Private Sector employment, carried out by leading jobs site, Reed.

Demand for workers in the manufacturing sector rose 16 points to a record 157.
Banking saw the fastest growth in salaries of all the sectors, jumping 14 points since February.

The strongest regional jobs growth was seen in East Anglia, which saw a record increase of 2 points for March.

While the slight drop between February and March is concerning, overall employment in the Private Sector is up 28 points since December 2009. Further progress will be needed to offset Public Sector cuts and rising unemployment.
