Output in the UK's construction industry fell by 0.9% in February compared with January, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

The ONS said that new work orders fell by 0.6% and repair and maintenance work was down 1.4%.

Compared with February last year, construction output fell 1.3%. Repair and maintenance work was down 4.3%, but new orders are were up 0.5%.

On a quarterly basis, output fell by 3.2%. Repair and maintenance work suffered a drop of 7.7% with new work falling 0.3%.
