The under fire Chief Whip set to miss the Conservative Party Conference, which opens tomorrow (Sunday) at the ICC Birmingham.

William Hill are offering odds of 7/2 that he will be out of his position by November 1, 2012, although he is 1/6 to survive in the role beyond that stage.

‘One might have thought that Mr Mitchell might have thought the Conference would be the best place to draw a line and move on, but by staying away he is ensuring that the controversy will rumble on until he does finally break cover’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

With Labour riding high in the opinion polls, William Hill have also dubbed Ed Miliband as PM in waiting and installed him as 10/11 favourite to succeed David Cameron as Prime Minister. Meanwhile, Hills also make Labour 8/11 favourites to be the largest single Party at the next Election, and 6/4 shots to win an overall majority.

‘Labour are red hot favourites to regain power next time out’ said Sharpe, ‘And Ed Miliband seems finally to be establishing his potential as a Prime Minister of the future’.
