China has become the world's third largest arms exporter, according to Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), overtaking Germany, France and the UK.
The figures are taken from 2010 until 2014, and see China account for 5% of all exports of major weapons. US and Russia still dominate the market with 31% and 27% respectively.
Pakistan, Bangladesh and Myanmar were China's biggest customers, as a well as 18 African countries.
China's arms exports increased 143% during the period, compared to falls of 43% and 27% in Germany and France.
Overall, there was a 16% increase in arms trade between 2010 and 2014.
