Research has shown that, for the first time ever, the cheapest domestic UK energy bill has soared above £1,000 a year.

This news comes following Scottish Power withdrawing its £990 internet tariff, following similar moves by other energy providers recently.

All of the so-called big six utilities companies have increased their prices over the past few months, which has caused Ofgem to launch an enquiry as to if the increased prices are justified.
