What role does luck play in the success of a business? Do we make our own luck through hard work or is it just down to good luck?
Specialist insurer, Hiscox, in partnership with the Royal Institution, is hosting a one-off debate which will seek to determine if businesses succeed by being in the right place at the right time, or through sheer determination.
Featuring CEO of My-wardrobe.com Sarah Curran, British journalist, broadcaster, two-time Olympian and author of Bounce Matthew Syed, and Dr. Stephann Makri, Research Associate at UCL Interaction Centre, the debate promises to take a refreshing look at the entrepreneurial approach to success.
Previewing the event, Alan Thomas, Hiscox small business insurance expert, said: “Hiscox is a long established supporter of the arts and science and we are particularly proud of our association with the Royal Institution. This debate will unearth some very interesting opinions and concepts surrounding the drivers behind business success. It is going to a lively debate and we look forward to hearing the range of views and compelling insights that will be discussed at the Ri event.”
The debate takes place on Wednesday 6 March at 7pm at The Royal Institution in London, and business people from all sectors are anticipated to attend.
