One Surrey businesses has introduced a ‘bring your kids to work day’ in an attempt to minimise disruption from today's strikes.
Widespread disruption to businesses and to the UK’s aviation industry are anticipated from today’s ‘Industrial Day of Action’, in which some 2 million disgruntled public sector workers will take to the streets in protest of a ‘triple assault’ on their pensions that will see them work longer, pay more and get less from their pensions deal.
Sodexo Motivation Solutions, an employee benefits firm based in Camberley, Surrey, have come up with the child-friendly day to stop parents having to skip a day’s work to look after children as schools across the country shut.
Starting at 0830 and lasting till 1700, the day involves entertainers in the boardrooms, face painting, balloon modeling and movies, as well as the kids putting on a play around the theme of ‘what I want to do when I grow up and what I would do if I was prime minister’. During the day, the children will be designing and painting posters representing childcare with the winning poster being used as part of Sodexo Motivation Solutions’ childcare vouchers marketing campaign in 2012. Parents will also be encouraged to donate money for the STOP Hunger charity (one of the charities which Sodexo Motivation Solutions supports).
